Aw man. You guys are real lucky today that the internet doesn't have smell-o-vision. Life tip: don't wear a wig to a party. Someone managed to pour cask wine all over it. Now it doesn't smell too nice. I really wanted to wear it for this outfit though, so I put it on anyway. Now I've pretty much ruined the outfit for anyone reading this with that disgusting story... Sorry about that haha. So, uh, can someone tell me how to wash synthetic wigs??? Shampooing it seems wrong, and I don't want to wreck the curls...

Sorry can't help you in that department, I'm sure there is some youtube vid out there detailing how to do it!

  2. The dress is so adorable, love the color.
About wig's cleaning, I've known people to get a wig conditioner, that is usually sold at places that sell wigs (I know that real hair wigs are actually sent for mantenience at the place they got bought from -at least where i live they do- so its likely they'll know what to use on it.

or there's surely someone who wrote a wig or tutorial, maybe in a cosplay related website

  5. Aw no, goon! Someone spilled some on a faux fur coat of mine, lucky it survived the washing machine. There has to be some way to wash a wig, good luck!

  6. oh dear, good luck with the wig! I used to wash my dolls' hair all the time and their curls stayed put after shampooing, but let us know how it goes :) Seeing your outfit has made me start to regret painting over my white tights! I never knew how to style white tights but gosh, you've inspired me annika. p.s thanks for your lovely comment, following you back! x

  9. You look so pretty with that dress. And i always think you're so creative. I always love how you dress up and do the DIY. :) Hm..i have curly wig and synthetic hair extension, and i wash them with normal shampoo. They're still curly, so i think maybe it's okay to wash the wig with shampoo. Wish it helps. Good luck~! :D

  10. I couldn't even tell that was a wig. Try some dry shampoo on it, maybe that will help a little..

  14. Perhaps you can try a large bowl/pail of water at room temperature and pour in shampoo that's not too harsh. Like baby shampoo or something and left it to soak.

Maybe if you wish, you can whirl it around in the water. After that soak/rinse it in room temperature water to get the shampoo out.

Some wigs can be curled with curling iron depending on the material used. I'm not sure if yours can though.

I got this from a friend who owns lots of nice long curly hair wigs for a sweet look when wearing Lolita as she has short hair.

Love your look by the way! Didn't occur to me dresses from Forever 21 are able to be used to create such looks. >.<
