So HOLY WOW, coloured contact lenses are fun! I've been wanting to try out coloured contacts for YEARS now, and I finally did it!
After a good 2 hours of trying (and failing) to get them in, and becoming pretty sure that it was actually physically impossible to wear contacts - I DID IT. I was a little bit obsessed with how I looked, and took about 50 videos (and 500 photos) of my eyes. And seeing as I had all that video footage, I decided to make a quick vlog out of it.
I will share more when I am more experienced with them (and YES, I am standing in my bathroom - if you have a problem with seeing toilets then don't watch this).
For those of you who are wondering, I'll also rate the lenses:
Comfort: I have no idea how they are supposed to feel compared to other contact lenses, and I'm still getting used to them so I can't give a good rating for this! In one eye they are totally comfortable and I can't even feel it, however in the left eye it gets sore after about an hour. Maybe I have a weird left eye (?) p.s. I'm whispering in the video because all my housemates were asleep (I decided to do this very early in the morning). I hope that you're all having a lovely day! These look awesome on you! I always thought it'd be fun to play with costume contacts but I already have to wear regular ones to see so I guess I won't be doing that! They shouldn't feel like anything when they're settled onto your eye. There's different sizes of contact though. An eye doctor would prescribe the correct fit to be comfy. I think these type of contacts aren't meant to be worn very long so it doesn't matter as much. They still look awesome and I hope they start to feel more comfortable!

Hmmm maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and get some properly fitted. I'm just so worried they will tell me NOT to wear them, though, haha....
DeleteThey look so utterly alien on you, haha! It's possible that the discomfort is a curvature problem or one of them may have a hairline chip on the edge (oh my gosh, the amount of times I've had to throw out a contact and break open a new packet because of those chips). Pharmacies sell eyedrops that may help the glidy-ness of the contact, decreasing friction between the contact and the eye and therefore decreasing the discomfort.
ReplyDeleteHow did you go taking them out? Putting them in was less hard for me than taking them out, I kept stabbing myself in the eye..

Oh gosh I so hope there isn't, but it would make sense! I'm going to try swapping the contacts around and see if it makes a difference!
DeleteThey look amazing! I've considered coloured contact lenses a few times for various costumes but I just cannot bring myself to put them in my eye. xx
ReplyDeleteAhh they look weeeeird! You look like a beautiful doll with mad coloured eyes! I've never tried coloured contacts 'cos I wear normal ones that I need to see with every day, so if I wore coloured ones I'd have to wear glasses and cover up my eyes anyway :( i can't comment on the comfort of coloured contacts specifically, I'm guessing they won't be as good quality as proper seeing ones cos they're a fashion accessory and probably not made to be worn for very long. You shouldn't be able to feel contacts in your eye at all, if you can it could be in the wrong way xo
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know! Yeah I can definitely feel that they are in there... so that may be a problem!
DeleteColor con is the best! The first time i wear the color con is when i was 13 y.o (9th grade) xD I still remember the struggle of opening my too-small-eyes!!XD I love wearing color con esp the natural colored one<33 but, i don't want wear those too often cos it'll make me weird when i don't wear them._.
ReplyDeleteAdventure of P-Chaaan!!!
Do you know if you have astigmatism? I do and it makes contacts uncomfortable in my left eye too since it doesn't fit properly.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if I did! I am going to try wearing the other eye's contact lens on my left eye, and see if I still have the same problem. Because I'm not sure if there is a tiny tear like Demi above said, or if it's my eyes!
DeleteThey are fantastic, you look like a doll! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThe colour is really great! I wear prescription contacts and I find that putting a tiny drop of saline into the contact before I put it in my eye really helps with it sliding in nicely and not feeling weird. Still, like others have said, it wouldn't hurt to get your eyes checked out by an optometrist. I don't think they'd tell you not to wear them, but you might end up with more comfortable contacts which can only be a good thing ^___^
ReplyDeleteOh my god anni you are the flipping cutest in the world!!! I just watched this a million times.🌻
