I wore this outfit when I went bike riding today, and only afterwards did I realise that the animals on this t-shirt are standing behind a bike! I dress up to a theme so often that today I must have just done it subconsciously, haha.

Scanning electron microscopy produces the most incredible images of our micro world. Here's some incredible images made using this particular technique. See if you can guess what any of them are of before checking out the answers at the bottom of the post!
1. Snow 2. The teeth of a Sea Urchin 3. Two-day old zebrafish larvae 4. An ipod earbud with skin flakes (the green bits).
Note: Electron microscope images carry no colour - the colour is added afterwards to differentiate the different materials. (And make them look pretty!)
I'm buying some winter clothes today! (After yesterday was the HOTTEST EVER day recorded in Sydney, yikes). I hope I can find somewhere that stocks something even mildly wintery, like a big chunky knit scarf and thick socks, or else I'm going to be mighty cold landing in Tokyo in a week's time - although it will be a good excuse to go shopping as soon as I get there! |

I love how the orange from your socks matches perfectly the orange from your t-shirt. I don't know if you did it on purpose, but they work really well together.
ReplyDeleteHeheh, yay thanks for noticing, I totally did do it on purpose ;) so thanks!
DeleteLove that t-shirt, so cute. Bicycles and cute animals is a double wammy (that phrase is a bit daggy but yeah). I have seen some of those images before on Iwastesomuchtime.com. Oh my, those fish larvae are bizarrely adorable! Also, can I just ask what's science like at the university you go to? I haven't really considered any NSW ones but lately having been umming and ahhing about it. Thanks :D
ReplyDeletegoing to leave a reply on your blog as blogger doesn't like to tell you when people have replied :)
DeleteHello there lovely little lady! Your blog is most adorable and your outfits are most entrancing! Thank you for sharing the intricate microbes, Its incredible how far in human beings can zoom! Learned quite a bit from that. Hope you enjoy your shopping! Can't wait to see more posts and where you get your majestic ensembles from!

I noticed you wear a lot of Wholesale items, I've read a lot of bad reviews though. What's your opinion about them?
ReplyDeleteIt's a risk. But it is cheap.
DeleteI've shopped there quite a lot and a lot of the stuff I got from them I've worn again and again and again. But also, a lot of the stuff I got was pretty weird and I've never worn.
If you are going to shop at Wholesale dress, I would recommend things like socks, tights, bags, hats, jewellery, and quite often the shoes are good as well (although unfortunately make shipping expensive). I wouldn't go for clothes as much - although this skirt I got was good. And the clothes are also not so consistent in size - most are 'one-size' but that could mean teeeny or quite normal-sized.
The customer service are alright though, and I've never had an issue with a package not arriving so it seems okay on that side of things.
Love this outfit and how it suites you :)
ReplyDeleteReally sweet look :) The whole outfit really compliments and frames the t-shirt well. But overall it just makes me want to steal the t-shirt x
ReplyDeleteThe zebrafish larvae are amazing. They look like puppys with weird tails. When I was a kid we used to get this Wallace and Gromit science magazine 'Technoquest' and there was always one of these super-zoom images and you had to guess what it was with the answer in the next one. However I didn't get any of yours!
ReplyDeleteThe snow one is particularly weird. I raved in my last blog post about actually seeing snowflakes for the first time. I've seen snow lots of times but this time it was actually falling as perfect shapes, like the ones you cut out in primary school. Incredible.
I really like your shoes. I've been meaning to buy some similar ones but can't seem to find ones that I really love:/
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about buying stuff in japan and then selling it on your shop? You always find such great things there! I'm incredibly jealous, thrift stores are basically none existing here where I live.
That skirt looks amazing on you! xx
