Cadillac Print Swimsuit

I normally wouldn't post photos of myself in a swimsuit on my blog, but I had to make an exception for this ridiculously cool one-piece. Particularly because it is still on sale at asos - I think I got it for about $25. Which is too amazing for words. Not only is it a ludicrously cool swimsuit, but because it's a one-piece it can also become a ludicrously cool top with a pair of high waisted shorts. (I still don't understand how there was thick snow here precisely one week ago. I am actually going for a swim this morning because it's that hot.) Word of warning about this swimsuit if you're thinking of getting it - it doesn't come with built in bra cups. I had to sew some in (I cut up an old bra to do this) but that worked really well! You could also cut open the lining in the bodice and insert some of those swimming top insert things. Love is a Place

I am absolutely head over heels for this dress. Heart boobs = awesome. It's also inspired me to create a similar DIY sometime in the future so watch out for that ;) So, I haven't posted here since Saturday! That's almost a whole week! Uni has been really full-on the last few days but I now finally get a breather - somewhat of a breather, anyway. Yesterday I had a four-hour-long exam. Did you know that four-hour-long exams really suck? Just in case you were operating under the assumption that a four hour exam sounded like a super fun thing to do. But anyway, it's behind me now, and I have a few free days to take a billion outfit pictures and maybe even do a little bit of sewing! Summer Skin

In stark contrast to my post from yesterday... here's an extremely summery outfit. And tomorrow it will be warm enough to actually wear this. Let's remember that we had thick snow yesterday. Hello... Snowtober?!

Just woke up to this. Can I remind you that it's October and I live in Australia??! I still somehow managed to colour coordinate with the random selection of clothing that I found at my boyfriend's house though! Heck yeah!

DIY Plaid Pinafore/Romper (with bows!)

This plaid, pinafore-style romper is probably my most favourite thing I've made! It's quite similar to my DIY overalls from a few posts back, except that the top part extends right up to my collar, and I added bows to either side of the shorts. I was inspired by this pinafore dress from Dahlia, which I pinned on Pinterest a few days ago (and if you follow my pinterest you'll always know what I'm going to be making really soon, haha). While I was making them, my mum popped in and said "you know, I think this was the fabric for our school uniforms when I was younger..." Great, haha. I also went to the same high school as my mum so.. that's fun. I must be having bizzare sadistic cravings to relive my high school days (although, the uniform had changed a bit from my mum's time. But the skirts were pretty much the same fabric as this, looking back on it...)

Mint & Baby Pink

I couldn't decide on short hair or long hair today so I did both. Which do you like best? wearing dress - c/o Romwe bag - c/o Wholesale  tights - c/o Oasap  shoes - Label Shoes c/o Chictopia Shop So I just had a kind of overwhelming amount of fabric and sewing goodies come my way, although it was through somewhat unfortunate circumstances. My mother's friend's mother sadly passed away the other week, and she had over her many years collected (...although hoarded may be the more correct term) a large amount of fabrics. I want to exaggerate the word large. Like... I'm talking about 1000s of different fabrics, and thousands of different bits and bobs and sewing stuff. It took a good part of a day to go through, and I came home with 2 super large boxes and and two massive canvas bags worth of fabric, elastic, thread, buttons, stamps, zippers... I'm never going to have to go to spotlight again, that much is true. I've already made a pair of shorts using some gorgeous tapestry fabric, and some plaid pinafore shorts/romper thing. Here's a sneaky peek of both: Although it's really sad that she passed away, she was obviously a very creative person and I hope she would be happy if she had known all those fabrics she had collected have gone to a good home.
