I couldn't decide on short hair or long hair today so I did both. Which do you like best?

So I just had a kind of overwhelming amount of fabric and sewing goodies come my way, although it was through somewhat unfortunate circumstances. My mother's friend's mother sadly passed away the other week, and she had over her many years collected (...although hoarded may be the more correct term) a large amount of fabrics. I want to exaggerate the word large. Like... I'm talking about 1000s of different fabrics, and thousands of different bits and bobs and sewing stuff. It took a good part of a day to go through, and I came home with 2 super large boxes and and two massive canvas bags worth of fabric, elastic, thread, buttons, stamps, zippers... I'm never going to have to go to spotlight again, that much is true. I've already made a pair of shorts using some gorgeous tapestry fabric, and some plaid pinafore shorts/romper thing. Here's a sneaky peek of both:
Although it's really sad that she passed away, she was obviously a very creative person and I hope she would be happy if she had known all those fabrics she had collected have gone to a good home.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend,

Short hair, by far. I feel like you could rock that hair style with your own hair.

both long and short hair are pretty, but i think the short bob shows off the collar details better and has a refreshing vibe when paired with mint green =D

I love the mint with the pastel pink hair. And my goodness, my envy for that collar clip grows. It's sad to hear about your loss, but I'm certain her love of all things creative will be put to good use with yours many creations. SUch a cute romper, the bow is a nice touch. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely outfit! I love the shorts you've sewn, the fabric is fantastic. I got a sewing box that came from a friend's grandmother, if I hadn't claimed it, it would have ended up in a skip!
ReplyDeletethose tapesty shorts you hav mae are beautiful! can't wait to see the outfit you create with them, I'm sure your mothers friend's mother is smiling knowing you have put her fabrics to good use!
ReplyDeletealso i like both the short and the long hair, I can see why you had a hard time deciding! In future you should spend half the day with long hair and half the day with short hair, just to confuse people ;)
Much love!

I can't get over how pretty the tapestry fabric is! I might have to buy something like it and make a dress... although I'd have to learn to sew first :)

I'm so sorry about your mum's friend, my thoughts are with you all. I think it is lovely that you are using what she has collected though, I'm sure she would love to know that you weren't letting anything go to waste. I love the dress you are wearing, it can be so difficult to find dresses with sleeves xo
