Whew! I went nearly two whole weeks without posting a thing here. I hope you haven't all forgotten about me. But I am happy to announce that I have officially completed my second year of university!
Lessons learnt while being a study hermit - my hair is naturally curly! I can't believe that I haven't let my hair to be its natural self in more than 2 years, always blowdrying my hair straight after my shower every single day, whether or not I was going out that day. Which sounds crazy, but I guess it was just part of my normal morning routine. However, one day, in the middle of some intense studying I actually wasn't bothered to blowdry my hair for once and that's when I discovered that my hair was wildly curly. It wasn't always this curly when I was younger, and I'm not sure what's made it go this curly now but I'm sure not going to complain, because now I don't have to put any effort into doing my hair, haha.
I thrifted this blouse and hat yesterday to reward myself for finishing my studies for the year. Aren't they pretty? I was so lucky to find them. A tip for any aspiring thrifters - get out of the city. I went more than an hour out of the city into the western suburbs to find this stuff. When you try to op-shop right in the middle of the city, all the good stuff is either gone or way overpriced (though I have a few secret favourites in Sydney - and no, I'm not going to share because then they'll be raided for all their good clothes ;) ).
Regular posting shall now be resumed. I hope you're all doing really well, I've missed you guys!
p.s. because I was away for so long, I've extended the Freena necklace giveaway for one more day :) Enter here. Bloglovin' | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Chictopia | Lookbook | Tumblr |

Glad to hear that the end of your school year went well! Also, I'm loving this shirt - so adorable! I thrift as rewards too - and you are so right about the city tip. My best thrift stores at the ones in little middle of no where type towns.

Your hair all curly like that is also very cute! I wish you would just let it stay like that forever :)

Glad your back! Congrats on finishing year #2 :) I love the portrait-y second shot. I'm jealous of your fluffy hair! What a wonderful discovery!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back, and congrats on getting through another year of uni :D
ReplyDeleteA similar thing happened to me around 4 years ago. When I was in primary school I had typical ramrod straight silky hair that Chinese people usually have. I started getting migraines once every few months and I thought it might be triggered by cold, so as a precautionary measure I blowdried my hair after washing it for a couple of years. When I stopped blowdrying it I also found my hair had inexplicably turned naturally wavy if I put it up in a bun while damp and slept on it. Just a few months ago I have realised that I don't even need to put it in a bun to get nice waves. Which is nice because the bun is uncomfy to sleep on. xD

Thank you! & Heck yeah, hooray for inexplicably curly hair :)
DeleteWhen you say the western suburbs of Sydney, where do you mean? If you don't mind me asking, just because I live in the Blue Mountains and often find some stuff in my local op shops! I was thinking of travelling to some op shops in the city because I thought I would find more things, but maybe not!
ReplyDeleteI meant penrith here, but the mountains is SO good for op shopping! Have a look at blaxland, my favourite op shop is there (and it's called 'op shop'). And katoomba is pretty good, too, I usually always find something good at vinnies, lifeline and salvos ;)
DeleteCongrats on finishing your second year! You definitely deserve new clothes! The skirt is fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hair did the same thing! When I was in primary school I always desperately wanted curly hair and green eyes (mine used to be ridiculously brown) and as I've gotten older my hair has gotten 100% curlier and my eyes went hazel and are mostly green now. So basically, I'm pretty sure I'm a sorcerer.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, this is such a good comment. That's so cool! I will start wishing for blue eyes and red hair, then ;)
DeleteCongrats on finishing your second year!:)
ReplyDeletegirl, you are so cute! :) and congrats on finishing year two! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm so used to seeing you in mini dresses but you look amazinggggg in long maxi styles too! Love this new look!
