After getting this amazing photographic printed dress (from Romwe) the other day, I decided I was going to theme my entire outfit as a zebra safari. To accomplish that I donned this sunny yellow cardigan from Modcloth, which is kind of representative of the sunshine reflecting off grassy plains, and this map-print bag. My whole outfit reminded me of an old-school adventure tale from the 1950s about an explorer gallivanting around African savannahs.

Also, this is probably incredibly lame, BUT I was really excited about it:
I totally had a mention in GL Magazine. A real life magazine! Thanks so much Tori for mentioning me in her magazine feature, and letting me know about it!
So guess what - my 1 week of uni holidays are coming up and I'm itching to make some clothes and pretty things and then share them all with you guys! You can tell when I don't have full-on uni when half my posts become DIY posts (check out my archives from July, haha). I can't wait!

Hello there beautiful people! Now, why does this always happen? I am such a follower of northern hemisphere fashions and blogs that now, with my outfits, I appear to be going into autumn - this is such an autumny outfit. Compare it with this outfit which was taken in the middle of winter, and this one in the middle of summer, haha. I am always all mixed up down here in the forgotten southern hemisphere.
Anyway, I also really like this Oscar Wilde quote up above so it became the title of my look. Also, I really like this new wig! After reading all your comments on my look a few days ago when I said I wouldn't ever wear a wig out in public... WELL I got over my anxieties and wore this one out on Monday night and on Tuesday. I got loads of compliments on it too, and a couple of my male friends actually didn't realise it wasn't my hair until I told them (though why they forgot I'd dyed it brown and how they thought it could have grown so fast in just a couple of days, I don't know), but still! That was all encouraging so I think I'll be just pretending that this is my real hair in the future. Please humour me. Hope you're all having a gorgeous day, |

A great way to ward off boredom (and a great way to procrastinate) when I'm studying is to ditch the study and go and dress up instead. (Great, Annika. If you're bored of studying, stop studying. Wise words of wisdom.) Anyway, dressing up is SO much fun with these awesome tights that I've been collecting (thanks to Oasap), and a pretty pastel pink princess dress doesn't hurt either. Nor does a wig.
I don't actually go out in public like this. Well, not exactly like this. I wish I had the courage to. I'll wear the dress and tights, but not my wig, or high heels. People tend to stare at me strangely when I go out all super dooper dressed up. I wish I lived in a magical city where when people dress up, they go all the way. And no one looks at you oddly for dressing up just to go do the shopping. Who wants to move with me to fashion utopia land? It would be quite nice. p.s., Rocking Horse - The Dead Weather. |

Acting Like A Grown-Up
The title of this look is basically due to the fact that I am not wearing baby blue/pink/pastels or my wig, or my hat, or a twirly skirt. I'm definitely stepping out of my comfort zone here! I'm dressed all grown-up-like. Well. As much as I possibly can. I still had to wear silly tights, of course (grown-up silly tights).

I really have been meaning to post a DIY on sweater clips as well, by the way, for all of you who have been waiting. I started the DIY and everything! And then I broke one of the clips. Unfortunately, they were my only clip-on earrings, so you're all going to have to wait for that tutorial, as the thrift stores have been oddly low on clip-on earrings as of late... (I swear that I used to see 100 billion pairs all the time and now I can't find them anywhere! Why!)

I Love You To Bits
These are some darn sweet tights. I really wanted tights with writing on them, but I was a bit worried about getting them because of the photo - to me it looked like they said "Bheave girl have isot arette egrobiovmlw favenhu..." (no kidding. Look at the product listing here. What?) But they're not gibberish at all! They're so sweet, on the front they say "You have been the only one for me. Life is not worth living without you. I love you to bits". D'awwwww. (I think if I were single I would have been vomiting, but I've become a seriously hopeless ball of mush whenever I see anything lovey-dovey now. It's so gross.)
