The golden days of cashflow... employment... etc etc

What do you think of this outfit?

Also, here are some pretty clothes which I am craving. The glory days of internet shopping are over for me, for the moment anyway, because I am recently (of my own volition) unemployed and the Australian dollar has taken a dive below parity to the US dollar. Meaning things are expenso. And not internet shopping is no fun because clothes retail stores in Australia suck. So here's an impossible wish list of lovely clothes which I want, but sadly cannot have:

90s inspired - velvet leggings, oh yeah!

This was my outfit for 90s night at Q Bar last weekend – it was called Teen Spirit and was completely fantastic because all they played all night was the vega boys, nirvana, vitamin c, britney spears, backstreet boys, rage against the machine and just so many more amazing 90s pop songs. Ahhh so so many good childhood memories. I want to go back in time!

Haha I’m also pulling a really strange face in this photo – although I think it was because I was really tired, let’s just say I was trying to be way grunge.

The 90s was definitely the best decade!

Strawberry Wine

I wore this to a daytime birthday party, and sat in the sunshine drinking strawberry wine. Cheap, delicious strawberry wine. Unusally for me, this outfit has some pretty diverse origins (rather than being all from wholesale-dress.net); this orange jumper I just scored vintage the other day from Vinnies, and it has such a pretty colour and texture. And it was perfect for sitting in the sun drinking strawberry wine. I just love it.

Here's a song called Strawberry Wine by the John Steel Singers as well. It's very good and if anyone is out there reading this blog, you should listen to it.

Mine now, silly neighbour (I think I may have started to have an issue with hoarding. Nevermind. It just means that I get to have heaps of cool stuff... right?)

Here's some more pictures of this outfit anyway:

This picture here is before I found the suitcase, you can see it in the background there in my neighbours rubbish pile for council collection:

There is almost no colour in this outfit which is a very unusual thing for me. It’s also so very basic (for me). I love love this little black dress from wholesale-dress.net as it’s got a very nice shift-style front and has an open back with a twisty bow kind of detail. I wore this out the other night to dinner, then to a pub and then to a party (although with about 500 other layers on top of it because it’s winter here now). But in the summer this would be a perfect night time outfit (I can’t wait for summer :( )

I did it! I made a DIY Galaxy print tee after being inspired by NAOMAYYY’s Everybody is Ugly Article on the Galaxy Trend (here). Furthermore, I didn’t even have bleach so this t-shirt was made with floor-cleaner. That’s right, floor cleaner, for bathroom floors. So i think it’s pretty impressive that it looks galaxyish at all. I also bought this new hat the other day from a real life store, Rubi Shoes (not even from online, which is very rare for me) and I loooooove it! That is all.

I went clothes shopping the other day in this outfit – yes, at a normal shopping centre – and I eventually became aware that nothing I was wearing was purchased at a normal shopping centre. Hence I had quite a lot of difficultly browsing and buying real life clothes. I didn’t even buy anything the entire day, except for some sushi for lunching on, and I think that is because I’m completely addicted to online shopping. Online shopping 1, Normal shopping 0

Buying from Wholesale-Dress.net

People have been asking me how I buy from Wholesale-dress.net when soooo many other reviews on the internet depict this website as selling terrible quality clothes. I'll post some examples later, but for now, here is my quick strategy guide for BUYING WHOLESALE CLOTHING.

1. Type Wholesale into the lookbook search bar and browse other people who are wearing clothes from that website. Many have links to urls and doing this is helpful because you know what the clothes will look like. If they're a similar body type to you as well, then you know it'll fit you too! Also google reviews of wholesale-dress, and find blogs which actually display the blogger wearing the clothes.

2. When you've got a basket full of items you want, comment on EVERY ITEM in the "ask a question" section to ask if it's in stock. Often they forget to update items when they're out of stock, so you need to do this to make sure.
Still, buying from Wholesale-dress.net is risky because sometimes even when they say something is in stock it is not. If you want cheap clothes you'll need to take this risk, and they'll refund you the money and shipping costs of the out of stock item as store credit which you can use on subsequent purchases.

3. Shipping is expensive but the more you buy the cheaper it is, relatively at least. Try and do hauls of at least $150 each time. Fedex is also the best postage to go with.
Don't go for items which are $2 or under. They'll almost never be good. Go for items which are $5 up and the quality will almost always be good.

More information which could also be helpful:

Generally ignore the sizing on items. It's usually wrong (except for shoes). Everything turns out to be about a size US2/UK6/AU6 no matter what it says. Just make sure the sizing is approximately what your body measurements are, give or take about 8 cm.

I order shoe size 40. For reference, in Australia, my shoe size is 8, and from Forever 21 (USA) my shoe size is 8 as well. Euro sizing-wise, i'm usually a 40.

BAGS, HATS AND SHOES are a really good buy! Or perhaps I've just been lucky. Anyway you can look HERE or HERE to see some examples of bags, shoes and hats that I've bought from wholesale-dress.net.

Still, buying wholesale is more risky than buying off a normal online website. But if you follow this kind of strategy, and have in mind that you're paying much less than you would for similar or identical items bought elsewhere, it really is worth it.

    Suspenders and Lace

This is the outfit I wore the other night to see Modest Mouse. I aimed for my clothes to be moshpit friendly: Cardigan can be tied to satchel bag when it gets too hot, short sleeves for easy arm movement, shorts (not a skirt) for dancing without flashing everyone and skirt riding up, and big combat boots so feet don’t get crushed.
    Also, Modest Mouse were amazing.
    :)

It's been raining forever so I had to take these photos inside - sorry for the terrible quality. I just did another Wholesale-dress haul and it went alright - these tights are amazing and the lace shorts are pretty cool too.

I am sick of it being winter in the southern hemisphere while everyone else up north is running around all happy and summery in lovely summer clothes. It snowed here the other day and I had to wear about 10 layers of clothing, and was very puffy looking but still freezing! So, in this photo I am more or less being stubborn and pretending that it’s warm with my summer hat and brand new ASOS dress and bare legs (Ignore that my kneecaps are tinged a little purplish). At the very least I can look back on this photo and think: Ah yes! What a nice summers day that was!
