DIY Fuzzy Blue Shorts | Make Thrift Buy #4

I have a piece of glitter in my right eye for the entire video. Just go with it.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

  1. I am laying here in bed with a cold and a cough, nose dripping everywhere, but I'm also dying. Of laughter. This is the best video I've ever seen and describes the novice sewer's plight in no more than 5 minutes. It is the culmination of the reasons I both passionately love and hate sewing. This review was brought to you by Demi. That's what I would say if I was officially asked to reviewing this Youtube clip. Can you tell I'm totally high on medicine right now? I love you Annika

  2. It's relieving to see that everyone else messes up stuff as well :D Thank you for posting this video, it was entertaining :D

I generally try to stay away from knits/crochets like that, because they really are difficult to work with... I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with that! :)

  3. Haha this video was very wittily made. Even if the shorts DIY failed the video at least didn't. :)

  4. oh my god this video is amazing :') I was thinking 'yeah those shorts would be awesome let's have a go at making them' at the start and then I kind of went 'oh, maybe not then' I think that may be a project for when I'm a lot lot better... though when you said you were sewing the three pieces of each side together to make one piece I was expecting it to go horribly wrong and it didn't; so props for that. I probably would've ripped the fabric to shreds by the end of it D:
This video definitely made me smile though <3

  9. Ah, Annika, this video was brilliant! Even though the end product didn't quite work out, it still opened my eyes to the idea of making & thrifting, rather than heading straight for the high street. Going to go watch the other videos in the series right now!
Also, I find fabric shedding the most annoying part of sewing. I made a navy blue velvet bodice for a college theatre costume project 6 months ago and I'm STILL finding little blue bits of velvet in my room.
Can't wait for the next installment in the series - totally makes me want to crack out the sewing machine! Super inspiring.

  10. Can you please do a tutorial on how to transform puffed sleeves into normal sleeves? I have a gorgeous 80's dress in 60's style that have shoulderpads in the puffs and I'm so confirmed on what to do.
I love this feature on your blog!
