Stripes, Denim & Science Museums / The World's Smallest Movie

I'm wearing pants! What is this unusual thing? I just counted, and out of all the outfits I've worn on my blog, I've worn jeans just three times. Usually, I don't wear jeans because I feel like they look too casual, and I feel too boring wearing them (I am someone who dresses up even when going up the street to buy bread). However, when I saw these stripey ones on Sheinside I thought I'd give jeans another go, because the bold vertical stripes are far from unnoticeable.

My friend Hannah gave me these badges that she thrifted the other day. Aren't they sweet? I LOVE the science museum one, and they go super well with this denim tie-shirt.

Did you guys catch this the other day? Using a machine that can move around single atoms on surfaces, and by moving atoms one at a time, scientists at IBM have created "The World's Smallest Movie". The images in the movie are magnified about 100 million times, and the whole thing was captured at -260°C. Each frame features a separate picture, put together using a stop-motion animation technique. The movie itself is not going to win any Nobel prizes, but it shows the kind of awesome things you can achieve if you work in science. And it does raise possibilities for future technologies. Atoms, the smallest "unit" that makes up everything in our universe, including your computer, your chair and you yourself, are so incomprehensibly tiny. I can't even believe that we can see and image them, let alone show off and make a movie out of them. Here's a link to a video about the making of the movie, which is worth a watch, but I've embedded the actual "World's Smallest Movie" below for your viewing pleasure:

  3. aww Annika, those pants look great on you! I totally understand you, I recently noticed too I don't wear that much pants on my outfit posts (although I do wear pants often, I guess I just end up not enjoying the outfits I pull out with pants, as you say, they're way boring!). Those pants are so rad, love them! oh and your brooches are so cute! :)
also, I'm loving that last photo of you, I'm feeling an urge to draw it!

  5. I cannot agree with you more on the pants front! I wear jeans in the rarest of instances. Seriously, I showed up to school in jeans the other day and all my friends kind of just stared like... um what? I'm exactly the same, I can't leave the house without dressing up even just a little bit. But they're also so restricting! I want the freedom to do a cartwheel, even though I'm physically incapable of it. I do have two pairs of striped jeans sitting in my cupboard begging to be worn... I might have to bust them out, hmmm. :) x

    1. Hahaha, yep, that's the kind of reaction I got as well wearing pants for once! And I totally agree - these ones are so tight I tried to bend down and pick something up and was like "um. So I'm stuck down here now". You should bust them out though ;)

  6. Well within something high waisted - I like crop tops, but without.. Not so much, though those jeans are awesome, just I would have rather wear them with something longer [: But denim as material works so well.
It's nice to see a different look from you, but your dress and skirt style is actually what I like about your blogging style [: It has inspired me to look up for more dresses for myself as you always manage to look so lovely in them, with small yet well chosen accessories [:

  7. This is the first time I've seen you worn jeans. You look great in it and I hope to see more of you wearing pants. Pants define and hug your body shape more. But its ok if you prefer dresses and skirts. That's the reason why I fell in love with your blog. You inspire me so much with your dresses.
