Packing my bags..

Packing a variety of wigs and other pretty hair accessories... (floral headband is DIY)
Finally, today I'm getting around to packing my bags. Gosh I hate packing - but I know I have no justification for whinging because I'm packing for a very good reason, so that's the very last complaining you'll hear from me.
Planning my outfits... (minus the hundreds of layers of thermals I'll also be wearing beneath)
Totally set for Valentines day in Japan AND my 2-year anniversary thanks to the extremely speedy delivery and arrival of these tights this morning c/o My Tights
Versatile leather skater skirt and all the jewellery I'm taking with me (mainly provided to me by Merrin & Gussy and Oasap, and of course, my handmade sunflower clips)
I'm really excited to wear that bat necklace with some black lipstick and creepy doll dress!
Entirely necessary 5 lipsticks I'm bringing... red, black, pink, blue and lilac
Some handmade presents for people I'm meeting up with in Japan! It is going to be Valentines day after all...
My lifesaver for the long plane trip... my amazingly amazing Kindle loaded up with about 50 science fiction books, Carl Sagan essays and the Origin of Species which I will make myself read! Plus a couple of trashy novels, because, well, you know, it is a long flight...
SO, this is goodbye from me for a few days! I'll speak to you all once I'm in... *deep breath*... TOKYO!

  1. Have a safe and wonderful journey! And on the topic of science-y books, I'd highly recommend The Beak of the Finch by Jonathan Weiner, and for sci fi, The Xenogenesis Series by Octavia Butler. Can't wait to see your posts from Japan!

  2. Hey snap, we have such alike minds, as I've just got some yellow flowers to make a yellow flower crown. Yet another coincki-dink! I am loving that comic strip dress, where's it from? Also those sunflower clips are a definite necessity. I swear I wear them 3 or 4 outfits a week and not at all sick of them :D

    1. Thank you! It's from a cheap store called blue jade or something... not online, unfortunately :( I just saw it while shopping the other day and had to have it! I think it's perfect for harajuku!

  7. The Origin of Species is on my to-read list too! My boyfriend just bought it so I'll be borrowing it at some point in the near future. I figure it's just one of those books you should read in order to be a well-read person.
Anyway, I love all of the things you're bringing on your trip. That comic print dress is amazing and so is all of your jewelry. I would wear everything you have here. You really have fantastic taste!

  9. hey it's the girly scientist (wannabe, I've still gotta get to college, I'm a junior in high school) again. I've never been to Japan, but I have visited family in Korea quite a bit... I like it there... oh, and when I go to college, I will actually be able to have an official web presence.. my parents don't let me facebook or anything, hahaha.... (I'm weird and paranoid, so I copied-and-pasted this from the bottom of your "alice" post, lol...)

  10. lol, sorry... I try not to be so paranoid. like, I actively try to be chill, but it doesn't work... which is why I wanna do a study about what may physically (brain chemistry...) cause a person to be hyper paranoid like I am... I think it would be super interesting... :)

  14. You have such awesome clothes! I love that comic-strip style print dress! I don't think I've seen it on here before. And the best jewellery collection. I have actually become obsessed with buying little hand clips to put on everything cause I'm a lame copycat. :P

BTW if you like sci-fi books have you read Zoo City? It's really good, though gets quite dark towards the end but it's one loads of awards and is just totally different from most of the other stuff.
