Princess Bubblegum in a Sailor Dress

 wearing
dress - c/o Romwe
cardigan - Forever 21
bag - c/o Wholesale
tights - c/o Oasap
shoes - Raben Footwear
beanie - No idea (maybe Cotton On?)

Today is the perfect warm spring day and this is the perfect little sailor-esque dress. Unfortunately it has sold out on Romwe, but they do have a few other sailor-style dresses - if you want to look for one search for "navy dress".

I was just blown away by all the positive feedback I got after going all like this on you the other day:
(Someone mentioned that I was Princess Bubblegum so I had to include that. Even if she is waving her hands about and holding a bubbling test tube.)
Anyway it was so cool to hear from so many other young female scientists, I had no idea how many of you there were out there in the fashion blogging world. Thank you so much for leaving such thoughtful and motivating comments. I'm so excited that having this fashion blog has not only let me contribute to the world of fashion but to make some positive contribution to science as well.
It's also shown me that I should try and blog a little more about things other than fashion that I find interesting or are inspiring me, and introduce a little more variety to this space. So I shall also endeavour to do that & any suggestions you might have are welcome!

  2. I sincerely want to thank you for the "ladies in science" post. I am a science lady, and a serious nerd at that, but I love fashion and it drives me crazy that people say things to me like, "Really, you're a biology major? You don't seem like it. Weird." As though to seem like a biology major you have to look like a white male stereotype of a dork with glasses.
I appreciate you talking about your other interests. I want to hear major neuroscience nerdness! Let it out! Beautiful and brainy! Thats the best kind of sexy!
I have a lot of respect for any woman striving to succeed in the scientific field. I am a feminist (shhh don't tell!) and I think the more powerful women there are making powerful contributions to the community, the better chance humanity has of saving ourselves from utter destruction. By the way, that dress is perfect! Keep it up, you are rockin it!

    1. YOUR COMMENT MADE ME SO HAPPY THANK YOU.
Though I don't want any of that (shhh don't tell!) after stating you're a feminist! ;) I am also a feminist and you should never be ashamed of it. Although I know it can often make people roll their eyes or scoff at you if you tell them you're a feminist - probably because they have in their mind that "stereotypical" feminist - and unfortunately there are a few who exist and don't help this stereotype - women who are actually not for equality but are more like full-on misandrists, who tell women they're not allowed to like pink or stay home and look after kids. The point of feminism is that you get to choose whether or not you want to like pink and stay home and look after kids. Or choose to become a scientist. Or choose to do anything you want regardless of what your culture tells you your gender can do. So that turned into a rant... but being a feminist is AWESOME and don't be ashamed of it :) that's all. thanks so much for your comment though it was kind of the best :)

  4. getting to this post right after watching adventure time ^^ I liked your science post, I study antrhopology (and i'm really into physical anthropology), and it's actually a fact that there's more females than males at university aat this moment, there's a lot of girls getting into science (even if we aren't sending rockets into space)

and yey for the sailor dress, it's really pretty and makes me want to start letting go my winter clothes

  7. Ohmigosh! I just bought that exact same wig the other day after seeing it on The Briar Rose Blog!! It looks fantastic on you.. I was a little worried it will look too 'wig-ish' on, but seeing your photos it looks like it should be fine :) :) :)
    Love your blog! x

    1. it is really nice, but it does always need a beanie or a wig on top of it so it looks really realistic - well my one at least is a little bit thin on top and you can see my real hair a bit :( still, i wear mine out to parties and to dinner and people mistake it for my real hair so you should be fine :)

Maybe you could do something relevant to Marceline as well! Haha but her style is a little bit different than bubble gum's. xD

  12. I love this dress! I tried to find it on the website, and I didn't see it up for sale? Is it still up for sale? I love the wigs...where did you find them off of Ebay? I am loosing all of my hair and will eventually need wigs that is why I am wondering, because they look fun.
